Happy Anniversary FITskitz.com!

Balloons

What happens when you take a risk, put yourself “out there” and pursue a passion?

Well….

You smile, suffer, persevere, wonder, question, gripe, and marvel.

Then….

You try harder, work longer, probe deeper, explore further, and learn more.

And after a year….

You look back in amazement, feel grateful, appreciate improvement, and plan for the future.

Over 200 articles and recipes launched into the webosphere in 1 year!

All true to my original vision.

THANK YOU!

to those who check in with FITskitz regularly and to those who have encouraged and supported me, especially my family and friends.

A special thanks to my husband, Andy, who has encouraged me to keep my voice alive. To my sister, Linda, who gives me a pat on the back when I need it most and helps spread the word. To my daughter, Brianna, who pins and repins on Pinterest to help me gain a wider audience. To my friend, Julie, whose support has been solid as a rock since day one. To my Dad, a fabulous writer and inspiration for my series, Sid’s Sense, whose praise of my writing gives me the courage to press on. To Donna, who adds tremendous value to the site through her comments. To my friends at the gym who take a moment to let me know they visit and enjoy the articles. To my son, Aaron, who supports the site behind the scenes.

Last but not least, to Sarah, Editor-In-Chief of Living Wellness Kansas City magazine, who has given me the opportunity to inspire a wider audience as a regular columnist and blog contributor in their magnificent publication. Joining forces to positively impact our community and beyond has been an honor and a privilege.

My wish for FITskitz.com is that it will become more of a community. That more people will share the articles and recipes with their friends via Facebook and Twitter.

Your tips and strategies for living healthy need to be heard.  I want this platform to be a welcoming stage. Please contribute your wisdom.

To encourage your involvement, I’m looking for guest posts on the following topics. Not sure of your writing skills? No problem. Do your best and I’ll be happy to edit and polish.

  • What I wish people really understood about my field of work (any type of work)
  • How I exercise when I travel
  • How to support an overweight family member

If you’re biting at the bit to express yourself on any related topic, as long as it reflects a life lesson or inspires others, send to me at fitskitz@gmail.com. Have a healthy recipe you love with a photo, please share it.

To build a fit mind and body community, we have to invest in ourselves and each other.

By starting FITskitz.com, I put my hand out. Not for money or recognition but to inspire others to grab hold and join me in the pursuit of good health.

Are you willing to put your hand out and ask your friends to join with us?  I hope so.

With sincere gratitude and appreciation,

"If you are lucky enough to find a way of life you love, you have to find the courage to live it." John Irving

Job well done; I am looking forward to another year with you. While I am old-school and not a twitter, facebooker, or a regular Pinterester, my dated word-of-mouth method has spread your link. Congratulations!
