How do you eat an elephant?  

Sid’s greatest lesson of all.  Maybe less profound but nonetheless powerful.  I’ve heard this so much my entire life that I’m on my 5th or 6th elephant already!  (of course, I don’t approve of the metaphor because I don’t eat animals:).

You eat an elephant one bite at a time.  Ever had a challenge in your life?  Felt overwhelmed, anxious, uncertain?  Of course!  Just remember the elephant.  One baby step forward and then another and then another.  The view can change with each step.  Keep your eye on the prize- nope!  Keep your eye on the path so you can see where you’re going. Sidney, my 85-year-old father, settled more cases in his pajamas than he did holding a briefcase in a courtroom.  By the end of this series, Sid’s Sense, not only will you know how he did that but working from home will start to sound way more comfy than those starched shirts and high heels!

Sid has been practicing law for over 50 years.  He’ll be the first to tell you his greatest lessons were not learned in law school.  Having been a salesman, journalist in the army, liquor control officer, and restaurant owner, he learned how to handle people from a young age.  He has always been a self appointed advocate.  Conflict never causes him the agonizing uncertainty most of us struggle with in life.
